friendship.day is a printable paper-craft activity, not a social network. A grown-up should stay nearby for the online steps and help with printing, scoring, scissors and glue.
The link is the key. It proves access to a role, not a person’s identity or age.
Access ends 30 days after creation. Stored content is then queued for deletion; a timed cleanup guarantee is still a family-launch requirement.
Help children describe pictures, not people.
Please do not enter a real name, school, address, phone number, email, social handle or contact detail. Automated checks block common patterns, but no check can identify every name in every language. Review the idea before creating it.
Treat each private link like a key.
The creator link can review, finish and remove the project. The invitation allows one contribution, then stops opening the project. After that submission, the friend’s browser receives a different control link that the creator was never given; it can reopen the result or remove the whole online project. The read-only link can show and download the completed fold. These links prove possession, not identity, age or guardian status, and there is no account recovery if a management link is lost.
AI decorates; fixed geometry makes the object.
When AI artwork is available, the description is sent to OpenAI for generation and safety checks. The generated picture is checked again before private storage. The original description is not shown to the other child or posted publicly; the project stores a short derived summary instead. If AI is unavailable, official artwork is used. Automated review cannot promise that every unsuitable detail will be caught, so a grown-up should check the preview before printing.
Only the minimum project data is kept.
The service stores the selected shape, safe design summaries, project status, private generated artwork and one-way versions of the access keys. A pending description can remain briefly in that browser tab so an interrupted request can resume. Original private artwork is not used for a public gallery. This release does not accept photos, video, audio or reference-image uploads.
Abuse protection does not create an account.
The service derives a one-way value from the connecting network address for short-term request limits; the raw address is not stored in the project database. When public bot protection is switched on, Cloudflare Turnstile also processes browser and network signals to confirm that an expensive creation request is not automated. Cloudflare still processes network data to deliver and protect the site.
Both contributors can end the online project.
Access ends 30 days after creation. The creator link can choose “Remove project”; after contributing, the friend’s independent control link can choose “Remove my side & project.” Either action immediately invalidates every project link and queues private generated artwork for deletion with automatic retries. Files already downloaded to someone’s device cannot be recalled. The completed view can combine the printable sheet and a device-local craft photo into one two-page memory PDF without uploading that photo. Timed zero-traffic cleanup is still a family-launch requirement, and the “Made together” window remains official examples only.
